About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel South Bend is looking for a Housekeeping Houseperson to work full or part time in our Housekeeping Department. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown South Bend and features 291 Guest Rooms, a Starbucks, an on-site restaurant, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators, and all assigned areas, as well as delivering items to guest rooms.

Requirements

• Must be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
• Must use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees.
• Must practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees, and self.
• Must be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures.

• Experience in Housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators, and all assigned areas.
• Deliver items to guest rooms (luggage, irons, coffee, etc.).
• Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of shift to remove newspapers, trays, empty ash urns, remove trash and/or linens, and note any areas that need immediate cleaning.
• Use daily checklist to complete assigned projects such as cleaning elevator lobbies, glass tables, furniture, ice machines/vending machines, elevator doors/frames, service landings/linen closets, and stairwells.
• Polish floors.
• Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to hotel standards.
• Report maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
• Assist with guestroom cleaning if needed.
• Pick up any Room Attendant's dirty linen or trash as needed.
• Collect all trash from service landings and dispose of it in outside trash dumpsters before leaving the section.
• Vacuum guest corridors.
• Assist Housekeeping as needed (e.g., roll-aways, flip beds).
• Deliver any clean linen to assigned sections, if applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Housekeeping Office, linen rooms, storage closets, and stairwells.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
