Housekeeping and Laundry Aide (Jackson, MI)
About The Position
Faith Haven Senior Care is hiring a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide to help maintain a clean, pleasant environment for guests and residents. The role supports cleanliness in resident areas, public areas, and support offices, with satisfaction as a priority. Laundry duties include collecting and sorting soiled linen, operating washing machines, folding clean linen, counting processed linen, delivering clean laundry to assigned units, and cleaning and sanitizing the laundry work area and equipment. Housekeeping duties include cleaning assigned areas and performing floor, carpet, wall, and blind care. The position offers full-time work in eight-hour shifts. Housekeeping shifts are 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, and laundry shifts are 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. All shifts include rotating weekends (every other weekend) and some holidays. Starting wages are $16.00–$17.95 per hour depending on experience, plus $0.85 per hour Hero Pay and a $1.00 shift premium for weekend shifts. Yearly wage increases are also offered.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and facility personnel.

Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in resident areas, public areas, and support offices.
- Collect and sort soiled linen.
- Load and unload washing machines and fold clean linen.
- Count the amount of linen processed each day.
- Deliver clean laundry to assigned units.
- Clean and sanitize machines, worktables, sorting areas, and other work areas.
- Dust mop and damp mop resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, sitting areas, lobby areas, and other assigned areas.
- Collect and properly dispose of trash and soiled linen.
- Mix and handle chemicals safely.
- Strip and refinish floors, clean and shampoo carpets, wash walls, and clean blinds as assigned.
