About The Position

The Housekeeping Aide promotes a professional and comfortable atmosphere for residents by keeping the facility clean and sanitized. The role involves cleaning and servicing assigned areas and performing routine, repetitive tasks on an ongoing basis as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Duties include laundering and delivering residents’ clothing and linens, cleaning and disinfecting resident rooms and shared spaces, and maintaining clean hallways and entryways.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort items to be laundered and load them into washing machines.
• Transfer clean, wet articles from washers to laundry carts and dryers, and start dryers for measured cycles.
• Fold and sort dried articles by resident name, ID number, or room number.
• Place residents’ clothing on hangers and put folded items in appropriate storage bins or sorters.
• Deliver clean clothing to residents’ rooms.
• Sort and count linens, towels, washcloths, clothing protectors, and other articles to verify quantities.
• Soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solution before washing.
• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, dining areas, common areas, and public restrooms.
• Perform light office cleaning.
• Maintain the cleanliness of hallways and entryways.
• Remove trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
