About The Position

The Housekeeper works within the Environmental Services Team and performs day-to-day housekeeping and laundry activities to help maintain the community in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. This is a full-time position with a 7 a.m.–3 p.m. schedule and availability required every other weekend. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Knowledge of commercial laundry services.
• Experience in a healthcare or service-related industry.
• Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of older adults.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning and laundry procedures outlined in the Environmental Services Manual.
• Sort soiled laundry, linens, and garments, separating items that require special stain removal or treatment.
• Sort, count, and wash soiled laundry, linens, and garments according to established procedures.
• Press or iron garments as instructed.
• Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, and damp or wet mopping.
• Fold, count, stack, and hang clean laundry, linens, and garments, and distribute them to residents daily or as instructed.
