About The Position
The Housekeeper at Hershey Inn & Suites ensures a high level of cleanliness in guest rooms and public spaces. This part-time position is part of the opening team for Hershey Inn & Suites, which is scheduled to open in Spring 2026. The hotel features 130 rooms, including seven suites, a complimentary continental breakfast, an indoor pool, an arcade, and a fitness center. The role involves cleaning guest rooms, hallways, and other hotel areas; replenishing linens and supplies; and reporting damaged or missing items and turning in lost property. Housekeepers also stock linen carts for the next shift and maintain linen closets. The position requires a professional guest-service attitude, the ability to work independently, and the physical ability to perform sustained cleaning tasks and move linen carts. The role requires passing a post-offer employment physical exam.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully complete and pass a post-offer employment physical exam.
- Professional guest-service attitude, well-groomed and professional appearance, and self-confidence.
- Self-motivated and capable of working alone.
- Ability to clean 15 or more credits within a specified period of time.
- Ability to understand and communicate instructions, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment, such as a vacuum cleaner.
- Visual ability to meet high cleaning standards.
- Ability to safely use chemicals in and around the workplace, meeting OSHA standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Considerable walking and pushing or pulling linen carts is required.
Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms, guest-room hallways, and other areas, including porches, vestibules, great rooms, living areas, stairways, and elevators, while maintaining items in good repair.
- Clean assigned rooms and areas and replenish linens and supplies.
- Report damaged or missing items; report and turn in lost-and-found items.
- Stock the linen cart for the next work shift.
- Maintain linen closet upkeep.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with company and department grooming standards and policies.
- Use chemicals safely in and around the workplace in accordance with OSHA standards.
