About The Position
The Housekeeper maintains an American Campus Communities student housing property, including its amenities, to enhance residents’ living experience. The role involves cleaning common areas and resident spaces, preparing apartments for turnover, and keeping shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly. Prior housekeeping experience is helpful but not required; the position offers opportunities to learn and grow, including on-the-job training and support for nearby properties. The Housekeeper follows established procedures and safety rules, including those for handling and using chemicals, and carries out written or verbal multi-step instructions. The position also represents American Campus Communities in interactions and supports its workplace commitments to inclusion, diversity, equality, accountability, and community pride.
Requirements
- Knowledge of general housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to understand and follow safety rules for handling and using chemicals.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in housekeeping or property and apartment upkeep is helpful but not required.
- Reliability and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Clean the property to standard, including vacuuming, mopping, and picking up trash.
- Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas.
- Clean and stock bathrooms, including tub, shower, and toilet areas.
- Assist with the property turnover process.
- Keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, and organize supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Serve as an American Campus representative and liaison in all interactions.
