About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a high degree of quality in a truly homelike environment for the Mary Campbell Center’s 68 residents, supporting their respect, personal dignity, and independence. The role requires reliable, effective, and efficient work and respectful interactions with residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment, while adhering to the Center’s Guiding Principles and Mission. The position includes leading housekeeping team members with moderate supervision, managing multiple tasks, working an assigned schedule, and using technology tools for program reporting and department goals. Duties include cleaning resident rooms and common areas, inspecting rooms, caring for housekeeping equipment, and handling waste. Previous successful experience working with people with disabilities or in a rehabilitative setting is preferred.

Requirements

Demonstrate high character, a consistently positive attitude, compassion, and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability.
Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and lead housekeeping team members.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and work an assigned schedule.
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Previous leadership experience in housekeeping and laundry.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using technology tools to manage program reporting and achieve department goals.

Nice To Haves

Previous successful experience working with people with disabilities and/or in a rehabilitative setting.

Responsibilities

Sweep, vacuum, polish, and mop assigned areas to keep them clean, neat, and tidy.
Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Notify superiors of damage, deficits, and disturbances.
Handle reasonable complaints and requests with professionalism and patience.
Ensure appropriate maintenance of housekeeping equipment and tools.
Clean toilet bowls and sinks.
Clean resident rooms and common areas.
Collect trash from floors and manage wastebaskets appropriately.
Lead housekeeping team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
