About The Position

Northridge Village is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for its assisted living community in Ames, Iowa. The role is responsible for maintaining the facility’s general cleanliness and keeping it sanitary and free of infection. The work may involve damp, dusty, and dirty areas; cleaning up human waste and other body fluids as needed; and handling cleaning solvents and chemicals while using the appropriate personal protective equipment. The Housekeeper may also be asked to fulfill reasonable resident requests.

This is a part-time position with a day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Northridge Village is part of a family of retirement communities and describes its mission as enriching residents’ lives through purpose, passion, and joy. The organization follows CMS and CDC protocols and guidelines and maintains a tobacco-free campus, including for electronic cigarettes.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience is helpful but not necessary.
• Ability to work in damp, dusty, and dirty areas and handle cleaning solvents and chemicals using proper personal protective equipment.

• Previous housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility’s general cleanliness and sanitary, infection-free condition.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums and shampooers.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling cleaning solvents and chemicals.
• Clean up human waste and other body fluids as needed.
• Fulfill reasonable resident requests when asked.
