About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community, with particular emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms. The role includes maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, handling laundry and supplies as needed, reporting maintenance concerns, and protecting resident privacy and confidentiality. The Housekeeper must follow applicable policies, attend required in-services and staff meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
Polite and courteous manner toward residents, visitors, coworkers, and management.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push, and pull for extended periods.
Ability to lift 25 pounds and carry heavy objects up to 20 feet.
Must wear the designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Housekeeping experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Clean common living areas and resident apartments, especially common areas and apartment bathrooms.
Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to the housekeeping supervisor.
Operate laundry equipment when needed.
Report inadequate quantities of supplies needed to perform duties to the housekeeping supervisor.
Use only approved cleaning products and store all cleaning supplies properly.
Clean office areas when assigned.
Dust and clean window blinds throughout the community.
Dust furniture, bookshelves, and other items in resident apartments and common areas.
Vacuum common areas and resident apartments.
Keep common-area and resident bathrooms clean.
Clean apartments when residents move out.
Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality and follow policies regarding release of resident information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
