About The Position

Casa de las Campanas is seeking a Housekeeper for its senior living and care community in Rancho Bernardo. The role maintains assigned facility areas in a safe, orderly, sanitary condition and helps uphold departmental quality standards. The work may involve areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and handling and transporting infectious waste. Employees must meet the position’s physical demands, pass required background checks, and wear personal protective equipment as required by the CDC.

Requirements

One year of previous experience in an institutional or health care housekeeping environment is preferred.
Ability to communicate at a basic level, orally and in writing, in English.
Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents.
Ability to calculate the linen and supplies needed for work assignments.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use necessary cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaning equipment and wet and dry vacuums.
Must pass background checks required by a licensed community, including a fitness-for-duty physical, fingerprinting, and employment references.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including masks and gloves, as required by the CDC.

Responsibilities

Maintain public and common areas of the facility in a safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Identify and report repair needs and unsafe conditions, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Work in areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and handle and transport infectious waste.
Clean interior and exterior windows on a scheduled basis.
Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure departmental quality standards are achieved and maintained.
Measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents, and calculate the linen and supplies needed for work assignments.
