About The Position

The Housekeeper I cleans and sanitizes rooms and furnishings according to established policies, procedures, and schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital and related buildings. The role also stocks supplies in restrooms and appropriate rooms in the hospital and related buildings. Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170-bed hospital serving an eight-county region in East Tennessee’s Lakeway Area. Its services include emergency care, laboratories, radiology, therapy services, a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and a Women’s Center.

Requirements

No specific minimum education is required; a combination of formal education and/or prior work experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential job tasks.

No licensure is required.

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas according to established schedules and prescribed methods.
Assist with cleaning emergency spills when observed or upon request.
Check assigned equipment daily for cleanliness and proper repair.
Observe and report the need for repairs to equipment, furnishings, buildings, and fixtures.
Remove waste and soiled linens from work areas, place them in specified containers or bags, and handle biohazardous waste properly.
Monitor supply and equipment levels and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
Personally inspect completed tasks and assigned areas.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Complete required annual education assignments.
Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
