About The Position

Make a meaningful impact every day by helping create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Perform a variety of environmental services duties while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and quality throughout Presbyterian Hospital. This is a full-time, non-exempt position on the day shift.

Requirements

• Less than a high school education.
• Less than one year of housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and environmental requirements, and infection-control standards.
• Dust furniture, woodwork, and equipment.
• Mop floors and clean and polish fixtures as needed.
• Wet-mop rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
• Operate mechanical housekeeping equipment.
• Move furniture as needed to perform cleaning procedures.
• Buff, strip, wax, and polish floors.
• Remove waste and soiled linens from work areas according to established procedures.
• Clean patient rooms and prepare rooms for the next occupant.
• Follow proper isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
