About The Position

The Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech performs environmental services duties at Presbyterian Hospital, maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, safety, quality, and infection-control standards throughout the facility. The role includes cleaning and preparing patient rooms, public areas, and other spaces; operating mechanical housekeeping equipment; and handling waste and soiled linens according to established procedures. This is a full-time, non-exempt position on the day shift.

Requirements

• Less than a high school education.
• Less than one year of housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection-control standards.
• Dust furniture, woodwork, and equipment; mop floors; and clean and polish fixtures as needed.
• Wet mop rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
• Operate mechanical housekeeping equipment.
• Move furniture as needed to perform cleaning procedures.
• Buff, strip, wax, and polish floors.
• Remove waste and soiled linens from work areas according to established procedures.
• Clean patient rooms and prepare them for the next occupant.
• Follow proper isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
