About The Position

We are a busy family of four seeking a reliable and capable Household Manager to help keep our home running smoothly. Our home is a warm and welcoming space where we have invested in many systems to ensure efficiency. We work from home regularly and want our Household Manager to feel comfortable, welcome, and like a part of our household rhythm. We will greet you at the beginning of each shift to align on priorities and ensure you have everything needed for success. This is a part-time role, 10-12 hours per week, with 10 hours guaranteed, scheduled for two days per week (5-6 hours per day) before 5:30 PM. The compensation is $30-$35 per hour, with a start date in August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Daily resets and prep of the home for bi-weekly cleaners.
  • Light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Coordinate and execute donation prep and drop-offs.
  • Assist with unpacking after family travel.
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries as needed.
  • Wash, fold, and put away approximately 4 loads of laundry per week (3 family loads, 1 linen load).
  • Follow family laundry preferences and maintain tidy, well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Provide once-weekly transportation for children to scheduled extracurricular activities.
  • Fully prepare two family dinners per week, using the existing family recipe book.
  • Prep healthy snacks (cut and wash fruits and veggies).
  • Build and manage weekly grocery lists using Instacart, including grocery pick-up.
  • Handle kitchen clean-up and ongoing kitchen maintenance.
  • Manage running household supply lists and take ownership of restocking.
  • Contribute to household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.).
  • Handle local errands including dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, post office runs, returns, and donation drop-offs.
  • Manage incoming mail, including package opening and recycling.
  • Perform periodic deep cleans of refrigerator, oven, and baseboards.
  • Refresh high-clutter areas such as garage, mudroom, entryway, and dining table.
  • Undertake organizational projects relating to toys, gear, and closets.
  • Let the dog outside as needed using the easy lead system at the door.
  • Assist with occasional dog teeth brushing.
  • Occasional fueling, light cleaning, and organization of the family vehicle.
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance and outdoor spaces.
  • Maintain awareness of the family’s Skylight calendar to stay supportive and proactive.
  • Keep receipts for debit card purchases for budget tracking.
