About The Position

We are a busy family of four seeking a reliable Household Manager with meal prep support to help keep our home running smoothly. Our full schedules require assistance with organization, errands, meal prep, and managing the day-to-day logistics of our home. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, self-directed, organized, and adaptable team player who can create and maintain systems, manage household supplies, plan and prepare meals, provide family support including light childcare, handle laundry and pet care, oversee vendors, and assist with administrative tasks. This role is part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and a focus on creating a well-organized and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily reset and tidying of the household.
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, and vacuum high traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal swaps of clothing, bedding, and décor.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Maintain indoor plants and replace batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector components.
  • Manage running household supply lists and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling.
  • Break down boxes.
  • Plan healthy dinners 4-5 times per week using a meal delivery service.
  • Prepare kids' lunches 5 times per week.
  • Perform grocery shopping for the family and an elderly relative.
  • Be mindful of family allergies and dietary preferences.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
  • Assist with school, camp, and activity drop-off and pickup.
  • Provide light supervision and back-up childcare as needed.
  • Prepare backpacks, clothing, and snacks for school/camp.
  • Manage kid-related errands.
  • Wash, fold, and put away family laundry.
  • Manage linen rotation of sheets and towels.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Walk the dog once per day for 20 minutes.
  • Handle occasional vet scheduling and drop-off.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers.
  • Assist with pick-up/drop-off of vehicles for inspection.
  • Research and coordinate home repairs and quotes.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of the fridge, oven, and baseboards.
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entryway as needed.
  • Clean basement dehumidifier.
  • Organize kids' closets.
  • Be aware of the family calendar to send reminders.
  • Track receipts and budget for household expenses incurred as House Manager.
  • Coordinate appointments, including doctor’s visits for an elderly relative.
