About The Position

This is a part-time role (20-25 hours/week) for a Household Manager & Family Operations Assistant in Houston, TX. The primary goal is to reduce the mental load and stress of managing daily household logistics for a busy professional family with two children and two dogs. The role aims to create a more organized home environment, allowing the family to enjoy more quality time together. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to anticipate needs, acting as a positive presence for the children and ensuring the smooth running of the household. This is a long-term partnership opportunity focused on maintaining balance, order, and enjoyment within the home.

Responsibilities

  • Manage family laundry, including washing, folding, and organizing.
  • Follow care instructions for all garments.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Ensure linens are washed before bi-weekly cleaning services.
  • Manage grocery ordering via the HEB app, including creating lists, finalizing orders, and unpacking.
  • Prepare ingredients for and/or cook 3-4 dinners per week.
  • Process produce for snacks and meal prep.
  • Batch breakfast prep.
  • Maintain allergy protocol standards for gluten allergy (Celiac disease).
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of kitchen systems, including deep cleans and re-organization of fridge and pantry.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems (e.g., kitchen storage, kids’ school papers, shoe storage).
  • Perform daily maintenance cleaning, including dishes, wiping surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and resetting kids’ living spaces.
  • Prep the home for bi-weekly cleaning service.
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding).
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with occasional event, holiday, and guest prep.
  • Help with packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Manage household supply lists for food, toiletries, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and pet care.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Process Amazon returns, handle gift shopping, and pick up prescriptions.
  • Break down package boxes.
  • Take two medium-size dogs on brief daily walks.
  • Administer pet medications, including monthly flea and tick preventatives.
  • Transport dogs to and from daycare and grooming.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Schedule vet and grooming appointments for pets.
  • Oversee scheduling and payment of regular service providers (e.g., cleaners, landscapers).
  • Schedule and act as on-site contact for maintenance providers.
  • Maintain screened-in patio space.
  • Operate blower around pool patio area/driveway.
  • Bring pool water samples to the pool store.
  • Oversee family calendars to maintain awareness of schedules.
  • Track receipts, budget, and mileage for employee expenses.
