About The Position

This is a part-time Household Manager & Family Assistant role requiring 15-20 hours per week, with potential for growth. The position is based in Brookhaven, GA, with a schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM EST. The family is seeking reliable, trustworthy, organized, and detail-oriented support to help manage their busy household and provide assistance with their school-aged child. The role involves maintaining household organization systems, providing family support, managing errands, assisting with meal preparation, handling laundry, pet care, and overseeing vendors. The family values clear communication, respect for time, and professionalism. Trust is a non-negotiable foundation for this role.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record required.
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain prior to start.
  • Must be comfortable using a location tracker when transporting or accompanying the child.
  • Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, subject to applicable legal accommodations.
  • Experience working with children is important.

Responsibilities

  • Provide light supervision and attentive afterschool care until parents are home.
  • Empty backpack daily and ensure all necessary items are ready for the next school day.
  • Track and calendarize school communications.
  • Support child-related errands as needed.
  • Build and maintain household organization systems over time.
  • Perform daily resets to keep the home tidy.
  • Light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic areas.
  • Coordinate seasonal clothing transitions.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with holiday, event, and guest room preparation.
  • Assist with travel packing and inventory support as needed.
  • Care for approximately five indoor plants.
  • Handle general home maintenance tasks including changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checks.
  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies regularly.
  • Maintain a running household supply list.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, and occasional gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling; open and break down boxes on a regular basis.
  • Grocery shop 1–2 times per week based on a planned meal list.
  • Support light meal prep including chopping vegetables, rinsing produce, and preparing ingredients.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and school lunch components as needed.
  • Assist with kitchen clean-up and general maintenance following prep.
  • Wash, fold and put away laundry.
  • Refresh linens and towels weekly; prepare guest room bedding as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
  • Maintain the Litter-Robot (swap bag and refill litter as needed).
  • Change the cat's water filter every two weeks.
  • Keep pet supplies stocked.
  • Assist with occasional deep clean tasks including fridge clean-outs, oven, and baseboards.
  • Support organizational projects including playroom toy rotation and seasonal gear management.
  • Clean water filters and other home systems as needed.
  • Be present and available when service providers visit.
  • Research repair options and gather initial quotes for the family's review.
  • Ensure outdoor spaces stay tidy.
  • Filter and forward relevant school and household emails for calendar management.
  • Assist with occasional restaurant reservations or light travel logistics as needed.
  • Support general receipt and budget tracking.
