About The Position

We are a busy, faith-filled family of seven living in Tupelo, Mississippi, with five children ranging from newborn to early elementary age. Our home is full, noisy, and beautifully lived-in. We are seeking a Household Manager & Family Assistant to help manage the daily rhythms of our home, support our children's routines, and ensure the household runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of anticipating needs, creating a calm and efficient environment. This role is crucial in helping us protect precious family time, particularly around the dinner table. We value a peaceful, well-run home, wholesome meals, and raising children who contribute to the household. The candidate will work alongside a stay-at-home parent and should be comfortable with children of various ages and medical needs. A deep appreciation for a home centered around faith, family, and service is important.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and valid driver's license.
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain upon employment.
  • Maintain a fragrance-free presence.
  • Candidates are required to disclose if they have received a live vaccine (such as MMR) within the previous six weeks.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experienced working in family homes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with school pickups Monday through Thursday.
  • Occasionally transport children to after-school activities.
  • Provide attentive childcare and supervision while supporting the stay-at-home parent.
  • Prepare backpacks, snacks, and school lunches for the following day.
  • Support children in their after-school routines.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Manage organization and daily resets for high-traffic drop zones.
  • Reset and tidy daily: wipe surfaces, load and unload dishwasher, take out trash, vacuum high-traffic areas, and other general upkeep.
  • Complete a full home reset before the end of each shift.
  • Manage seasonal clothing transitions.
  • Change air filters, batteries, and light bulbs.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Take full ownership of family laundry (wash, dry, fold, and put away).
  • Iron, steam, and perform other special garment care as needed.
  • Maintain tidy, well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Rotate linens and towels as needed.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining online grocery orders.
  • Organize, wash, chop, prep, and properly store groceries upon arrival.
  • Execute up to one fully prepared dinner per week when requested.
  • Keep pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies stocked.
  • Manage returns, donation drop-offs, occasional gift shopping, and other misc. errands.
  • Bring in packages, organize mail, and break down boxes.
  • Feed the family dogs.
  • Schedule vet or grooming appointments as needed.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Perform occasional spot cleaning and illness-related deep cleaning.
  • Assist with occasional organizational projects.
