About The Position

This is a full-time Household Manager & Family Assistant role supporting a busy family of six with four young children and a dog. The position focuses on keeping the home tidy, laundry moving, the kitchen flowing, and handling daily details to ensure the household runs smoothly and calmly. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and warm individual who can become a long-term, valued member of the household team, supporting both the parents and the nanny. The role involves household management, meal planning and preparation, laundry care, inventory management, errands, family support (including light supervision/backup childcare), deep cleaning, vendor oversight, and basic pet care.

Requirements

Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Comfortable driving a family vehicle to transport children.
Maintain a smoke-free environment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Experience with household management, organization, and meal preparation.
Ability to manage grocery orders and deliveries.
Comfortable around babies and young children.
Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work collaboratively with parents and nanny.
Willingness to commit to a long-term relationship with the family.

Responsibilities

Create and/or maintain household organization systems.
Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners, including trash and recycling removal.
Ensure bathrooms and kitchen are consistently tidy and stocked.
Perform light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing batteries and light bulbs.
Plan and prepare healthy family meals and snacks.
Handle grocery shopping using home delivery services and organize/put away deliveries.
Prepare school lunches for children.
Manage daily loading and unloading of the dishwasher, including baby bottles.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, especially after mealtimes.
Manage all aspects of laundry and linen care, including washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and putting away clothes.
Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
Handle linen rotation and bed linen care.
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
Manage running household supply lists and household orders/subscriptions.
Handle mail and package processing.
Break down boxes.
Assist with family needs such as pick-ups/drop-offs and light supervision/backup childcare.
Prepare backpacks, clothing, and snacks for children.
Run kid-related errands.
Perform deep cleaning and special projects, such as organizing closets and toy areas.
Receive contractors and vendors at the home and serve as a point of contact.
Oversee seasonal property maintenance and manage outdoor spaces.
Maintain awareness of the household calendar.
Provide basic pet care, such as refilling water bowls and letting the dog in and out.
Provide dog sitting as needed.
