About The Position

This is a part-time (16-20 hours/week) Household Manager & Family Assistant role in the Kansas City Northland area (anticipated Liberty / 64157). The position guarantees 16 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday-Thursday, approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with some flexibility. Additional hours may be available for date nights and special projects with advance notice. The role involves supporting a family with a toddler and a new baby on the way, helping their household run smoothly as they settle into a new home. The ideal candidate is proactive, kind, flexible, detail-oriented, and trustworthy, becoming a valued part of the family's support system. Responsibilities include childcare, meal planning and prep, laundry, household organization, inventory, errands, vendor oversight, vehicle management, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated supervision and engagement during scheduled childcare blocks
  • Prep kid-friendly lunches during childcare hours
  • Child-related errands as needed
  • Weekly batch cooking session: prepare 2–3 full meals designed to be reheated throughout the week, with a leftovers mindset
  • Prep snacks, including washing and cutting fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Grocery shopping for meal prep ingredients
  • Follow household dietary needs and preferences (gluten free)
  • Kitchen cleanup and maintenance after prep
  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry and linens
  • Special garment care for items as needed
  • Regular linen rotation: bed sheets, bathroom towels
  • Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area
  • Create and/or Maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Assistance with seasonal swaps as needed
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Indoor plant care
  • Packing and unpacking support for travel
  • Occasional event, holiday, or guest prep
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Occasional deep cleans: refrigerator, oven, baseboards
  • Refresh entry areas

  • Maintain HVAC filters and air purifiers on a regular schedule
  • Contribute to a running household supply list
  • Restocking pantry and refrigerator as needed
  • Assist with household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and other errands as needed
  • Mail and package handling including breaking down boxes
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and repair technicians when on-site
  • Light outdoor space upkeep
  • Track family vehicle maintenance appointments
  • Assist with fueling, cleaning, and organizing the family vehicle
  • Track registration and insurance renewal timelines
  • Maintain awareness of the family calendar and household schedules
  • Track receipts and budget for expenses incurred in the house manager role
