About The Position

This is a part-time role, 25 hours per week, for a Household Manager & Family Assistant with Meal Prep Support. The position is designed to provide in-person execution and day-to-day ownership to keep a busy household running smoothly. The role involves taking ownership of the flow of the home while children are at school and parents are working, providing consistent support with meals, laundry, daily resets, inventory, errands, and household organization. The ideal candidate will also help create and implement organizational systems and see projects through to completion, while maintaining recurring household needs. The goal is to create a home environment that feels "set" each day, allowing the family more time to be present together.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain practical household organization systems.
  • Complete daily household resets and prep home for cleaners.
  • Complete a weekly fridge reset.
  • Handle light tidying (dishes, surfaces, clutter, vacuum high-traffic areas).
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, bedding, and gear.
  • Declutter and sell or donate unwanted items.
  • Support preparation for events, holidays, guests, and hosting.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Change household items like batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries.
  • Work from and help expand the family's existing 3-week rotating meal plan.
  • Coordinate with the family's virtual advisor on the weekly meal plan and grocery list.
  • Batch cook approximately 3–4 dinners per week.
  • Prepare snacks as needed.
  • Handle occasional grocery shopping or grocery pickups.
  • Receive, unpack, wash, organize, and put away grocery deliveries.
  • Complete kitchen clean-up and maintenance.
  • Wash, dry, fold, organize, and put away laundry.
  • Handle ironing, steaming, and appropriate care of special garments.
  • Manage linen rotation, including washing and folding sheets and refreshing towels.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy, organized, and well stocked.
  • Maintain running household supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Receive and organize household deliveries.
  • Handle returns.
  • Pick up gifts and other items ordered as needed.
  • Tackle backlog of school papers, forms, and kids’ artwork, creating a system for sorting and organizing.
  • Unpack backpacks, empty school folders and maintain the system.
  • Prepare backpacks, snacks, water bottles, and clothing for the next day.
  • Provide occasional light supervision or back-up childcare as needed.
  • Establish a room-by-room organization plan and work through priorities.
  • Help complete partially finished household and organization projects.
  • Tackle organizational projects involving toys, children's gear, closets, and other household spaces.
  • Clean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiers.
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance and service appointments.
  • Assist with fueling, cleaning, and organizing family vehicles.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance deadlines and coordinate renewals.
  • Oversee cleaners, landscapers, and other household service providers.
  • Create and manage punch lists for household repairs and installation projects.
  • Identify and communicate rotating deep-cleaning tasks for cleaners.
  • Work with the family's virtual advisor to ensure information moves smoothly between digital and in-person household management.
  • Add relevant household, school, appointment, and activity information to shared family calendar.
  • Support travel planning and logistics.
  • Track and maintain receipts/budget for household expenses.
