About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and organized Household Manager & Family Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a warm, energetic family of 4 with two young children and a small dog. This role focuses on childcare and meal preparation, aiming to create a calm, organized, and welcoming home environment. The ideal candidate will act as a true partner, taking oversight of the day-to-day behind-the-scenes operations of the household, anticipating needs, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week, with a schedule of 4 days per week, Monday-Friday, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility. The compensation is $30-$35 per hour, with a start date of ASAP. We are looking for a long-term fit with someone who can grow with our family.

Requirements

Maintain a smoke-free environment.
Reliable personal transportation and clean driving record.
Comfortable driving children in family SUV in all weather conditions.
Up to date on all vaccinations, including COVID and flu.
CPR and First Aid certified.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide school and activities pick-up and drop-off as needed.
Supervise children in the home, at extra-curricular activities, and during playdates.
Prepare diaper bags, backpacks, clothing, snacks, and activity bags.
Run kid-related errands as needed.
Provide date night and overnight child care as needed.
Create and maintain household organization systems.
Perform daily bedroom resets.
Prepare home for bi-weekly cleaners.
Perform light tidying in bedrooms, bathrooms, dishes, surfaces, and vacuum high-traffic areas.
Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, decor, and bedding.
Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparations.
Prepare 2-4 dinners per week for the family, some days as full meals, some days with ingredients prepped.
Prepare school lunches and healthy after-school snacks daily.
Grocery shop as needed to support meal planning.
Follow dietary needs/preferences and food allergies (salmon).
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including trash removal.
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
Manage running household shopping lists.
Run errands such as dry cleaning and travel items.
Wash, fold, and put away all family laundry according to existing organizational systems.
Maintain bedroom and bathroom linens and make beds daily.
Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked.
Perform occasional deep cleans of the fridge, oven, laundry machines, and baseboards.
Refresh daily drop zone areas.
Undertake organizational projects for closets, dressers, shoe racks, playrooms, toy areas, and cabinets/storage spaces in common areas.
Clean dog bowls daily and ensure food and water are consistently maintained.
Take the dog outside for brief outings as needed.
Maintain dog food inventory.
Be present to let in cleaners, contractors, or landscapers when the family is unavailable.
Maintain outdoor spaces, including grill cleaning and propane tank maintenance.
Assist with seasonal property maintenance.
Maintain family calendar awareness using Skylight Calendar.
Take the car for a car wash occasionally.
