About The Position

A part-time Household & Family Assistant is sought by a busy family in Zionsville, Indiana. The role is 20–25 hours per week, with 20 hours guaranteed, Monday through Thursday, approximately noon or 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Compensation is $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, and the desired start date is as soon as possible. The position focuses on picking up and transporting a teenage daughter to school and activities in the family’s vehicle, managing family laundry, and keeping the home’s commonly used spaces tidy and organized. The family has a regular cleaning service, so this is not a traditional housekeeping role. Other duties may include errands, household supply tracking, basic meal preparation, occasional pet care, plant watering, and household projects as time allows. The family seeks someone dependable, conscientious, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while communicating openly. The role requires discretion and respect for the family’s privacy, safe and responsible driving, and adaptability to occasional schedule changes. A background check is required. Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
Ability to safely and responsibly transport a teenager using the family’s vehicle.
Comfort with hands-on household tasks, including laundry, tidying, and organizing.
Ability to maintain a smoke-free environment.
Ability to maintain a fragrance-free environment while working in the home.
Must be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, including COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, subject to applicable legal accommodations.
Strong references from previous employers.

Responsibilities

Pick up the family’s teenage daughter from school and drive her to extracurricular activities using the family’s vehicle.
Track transportation plans, communicate schedule changes, and keep school- and activity-related belongings organized and ready.
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and put away family laundry; follow clothing care instructions and set aside delicate or dry-clean-only items.
Handle dry-cleaning drop-offs and pickups, keep towels and linens washed and replenished, perform occasional light ironing, and keep the laundry area organized.
Keep common areas tidy, return items to their proper places, unload the dishwasher, wipe kitchen counters, and help keep the kitchen organized.
Vacuum high-traffic areas and provide light housekeeping as needed.
Organize the mudroom, entryway, closets, and other frequently used spaces, and maintain practical household organization systems.
Prepare guest rooms when needed, including fresh linens and essentials.
Care for household surfaces, furnishings, and belongings using appropriate products and methods.
Help with occasional organizing projects and seasonal changes.
Monitor household supplies, pantry items, and everyday essentials; maintain shopping lists and place orders when needed.
Run occasional errands, including returns, dry cleaning, and pickups; bring in mail and packages and break down boxes.
Assist with light kitchen tasks, basic meal preparation, and food organization as needed.
Help pack or unpack for trips when requested.
Provide occasional pet care, such as letting the dog out or taking the dog for a short walk, and water indoor plants as needed.
Perform occasional cleaning tasks outside the regular cleaning service, such as cleaning the refrigerator or smaller household appliances.
Help prepare the home for guests or entertaining and complete seasonal organizing projects.
Keep the family vehicle clean, fueled, and organized.
Let in scheduled service providers or help coordinate household appointments.
Assist with small household projects or administrative tasks as needed.
