About The Position

We are a warm, active family in Princeton, NJ, with three school-aged children seeking a part-time Family Assistant & Household Support. We are involved, hands-on parents who value kindness, open communication, and teamwork. We are looking for an extra set of capable, caring hands to help our busy days run smoothly. The schedule is flexible, with approximately 15-20 hours per week, and we hope to find someone dependable who becomes a trusted part of our routine. The ideal candidate is patient, calm, organized with strong time management skills, reliable, and communicative. This role involves assisting with children's morning routines, preparing meals, managing children's laundry, light household tidying, and accompanying children to local activities.

Requirements

Must maintain a smoke-free environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Reliable transportation; access to a car is strongly preferred.
Comfortable accompanying and supervising children during local activities.
Patient & Calm: Genuinely enjoy being around children and bring a kind, steady, and encouraging presence.
Provide guidance and structure while also encouraging age-appropriate independence.
Comfortable managing the energy of three school-aged children and can keep busy mornings, after-school transitions, and competing needs moving smoothly without becoming overwhelmed.
Organized with Strong Time Management: Good at keeping track of schedules, routines, and the small details that help a busy household run smoothly.
Can prioritize, manage time well, and make sure everyone gets where they need to be when they need to be there.
Reliable & Communicative: Understand how much a family depends on consistency, particularly around school-day routines.
Show up when expected, communicate clearly, and follow through on commitments.
Can become a trusted, consistent presence in the family’s day-to-day life.

Responsibilities

Help the children navigate their morning routines, including getting dressed, organizing belongings, and preparing for school.
Prepare breakfast and pack school lunches, snacks, and any necessary school-day items.
Assist with school drop-offs and pickups as needed, depending on transportation arrangements.
Keep children's school supplies, backpacks, and everyday belongings organized and ready for use.
Welcome the children home from school, prepare nutritious after-school snacks, and accompany and supervise them during local activities and outings, including swimming approximately twice per week.
Reset commonly used areas after morning and afternoon activities.
Assist with family meal preparation using recipes and preferences provided by the family.
Help maintain an orderly kitchen as part of the family's daily routine.
Keep kitchen counters, preparation areas, and dishes clean and organized after cooking.
Manage the children's laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting clothing away.
Assist with light household tidying and other family-related tasks as time allows.
