Requirements

Current license to practice in Florida
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means.
A minimum of one (2) year in a Psychiatric Behavioral Health Center environment or health-care facility treating, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with understanding of co-occurring disorders, and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.
Must have supervisory experience
Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
Current Florida Driver's License
Current CPR Certification
Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam.
Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
Knowledge of milieu management.
Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices

Responsibilities

Supervise and/or direct the implementation of individualized nursing care.
Exercise sound judgment in evaluation of situations and/or making nursing decisions.
Direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
Accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
Safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Prepare and maintain appropriate medical record documentation.
