The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside’s comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse. The House Supervisor provides direct supervision to staff on a designated unit. In addition, he/she provides indirect supervision for all other hospital departments. The House Supervisor is responsible for appropriate unit assignments taking into consideration patient acuity, age specific requirements and diagnoses. The House Supervisor promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • 3 years prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with specific patient population preferred.
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
  • CPR training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to staff on a designated unit.
  • Provides indirect supervision for all other hospital departments.
  • Responsible for appropriate unit assignments taking into consideration patient acuity, age specific requirements and diagnoses.
  • Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health.
