We are looking for a House Supervisor to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! This role acts as a house-wide supervisor and commits to being a resource to all departments to assist with coordination of care to patients from one level of care to another. The House Supervisor collaborates with the Nurse Executive, leaders, hospital personnel, and other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes during evening/night hours. They serve as a liaison to other leaders and the Nurse Executive for off shifts. The role involves assessing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care; reporting significant events such as near misses, adverse events, patient/family complaints, and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient-centered care; rounding with team members on the unit, and identifying opportunities for improvement; assigning and delegating patient care tasks as appropriate; delegating tasks to unlicensed support staff as outlined by state board regulations and facility policies as appropriate; ensuring that all infection control precautions and procedures are followed; ensuring that appropriate staffing levels meet patient care needs; assisting other team members by providing direct patient care as needed. The House Supervisor continually assesses unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with other departments, clinical and nonclinical, to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients; demonstrates effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills; monitors supply and ensures that appropriate par levels meet patient care needs without causing waste. Maintains accurate data collection for direct and indirect patient care. Documentation is reflective of care provided, on appropriate hospital forms and reports, and within the established timeframes. Completes live audits and daily reports as directed. Facilitates and mentors others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills; Participates in continuing education activities; promotes, facilitates, and educates team members on new practice changes, regulatory requirements, and organizational practice changes; monitors and supervises training and education for team members. Holds team members accountable and consistently projects a positive professional image through appearance and behavior. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through identification and participation in performance improvement initiatives. Facilitates patient satisfaction rounds and recovers service when applicable and attends daily nurse huddles.
