About The Position

The RN supervisor shall oversee and guide nursing employees that are under their supervision. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills. Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.

Requirements

• 3 years of hospital RN experience required.
• Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.
• Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
• Must have and maintain current BCLS/CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications, according to unit specific needs.
• Familiar with basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the TX Nurse Practice Act.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Nice To Haves

• 1 or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Membership in related professional organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide nursing employees.

• Identify and assist in the resolutions of patient care concerns and conflicts.
• Maintain performance skills.
• Act as the administrative representative for the organization when administration is not present.
