About The Position

This part-time opportunity offers 24 hours per week and benefits. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. RN House Supervisors at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital deliver quality care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care.

Requirements

A valid State of Pennsylvania Nursing (RN) (Registered Nurse) License is required.
Current CPR/BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

3-5 years of management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receives call-ins, assigns float pool staff, and makes appropriate reassignments or changes in staff schedule to meet recommended staffing levels in the various nursing units.
Collaborates with Nurse Managers, or Charge Nurses to maintain adequate staffing for the various nursing units for the current and oncoming shifts.
Collaborates with the Access Intake Center staff to guarantee the most appropriate placement of the patient in the system based upon patient diagnosis, acuity, and nursing care needs.
Communicates information appropriately and effectively intra and interdepartmentally.
Acts as a resource to nursing units and other departments and serves as a liaison when dealing with mutual problems, issues or concerns.
Provides accurate written and/or verbal reports to Nurse Managers, Risk Manager, or Quality Improvement Director based upon problems encountered and actions taken as appropriate.
