About The Position

This is a part-time House Manager position, 15-20 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (3-5 days per week). The role involves supporting a dynamic household of six in Seattle, WA. The family includes two full-time working parents and four children (ages 11, 9, 5 & 4), as well as three pets. The ideal candidate will take ownership of daily household management, ensuring the home runs smoothly, efficiently, and proactively, allowing the parents to be fully present with their children. The household values kindness, a calm presence, clear communication, and a long-term relationship with the hired individual. The role requires someone proactive, professional, pleasant, organized, and flexible, who enjoys creating order and making everyday life easier for others. This position offers backup childcare support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for bi-weekly cleaning service
  • Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event, holiday, and guest prep, including occasional children's birthday parties or evening hosting
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and other household maintenance items
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including picking up toys and tidying the backyard space
  • Packing and unpacking for family travel as needed
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists, orders and subscriptions
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Mail and package handling, including breaking down boxes
  • Meal planning
  • Grocery shopping
  • Light meal prep for 3-4 meals per week, including chopping vegetables and getting ingredients ready
  • Batch prep easy grab and go breakfast items and snacks
  • Wash, fold, and organize adult laundry, and family towels and linens
  • Maintain, stock and tidy laundry areas
  • Daily pet care including feeding, watering and monitoring pet supplies
  • Clean litter boxes daily
  • Schedule maintenance for family vehicles
  • Maintain family vehicles including fueling, cleaning, and organizing
  • Occasional deep cleans of fridge, oven, and baseboards
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas
  • Organizational projects for children’s toys and gear
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers
  • Backup childcare support as needed (assist with pick-up/drop-offs, kid-related errands)
