About The Position

Ensures that the Bear River Transitional Living Home is a safe place for Tribal Members in active recovery and/or reentry. The House Manager will work closely with the residents and Social Services team to ensure a safe, secure, trauma-informed, clean and sober environment for all residents. The House Manager will also be responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with residents and staff while maintaining accountability.

Requirements

  • Must be Twenty-One (21) years of age.
  • Must have at least one year clean and sober with a thorough understanding of the recovery process
  • Must possess High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Shall possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aid certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and model a solid program of recovery and ensure all residents do likewise
  • Manages sign in and out logs to ensure the resident’s activity is being well documented
  • Conduct room and chore inspections daily to maintain house expectations to include managing and coordinating daily housekeeping tasks
  • Report facility maintenance needs to the Housing Department
  • Monitor resident behavior/progress and communicate with the Social Services Department on verbal warnings and write-ups and documents as directed
  • Communicate facility needs with Social Services Department
  • Communicate resident needs to the Social Services Department i.e. food, hygiene, client personal needs.
  • Facilitate weekly house meeting
  • Attend required training and monthly department meetings
  • Responsible for curfew enforcement
  • Other duties may be assigned.
