About The Position

The House Manager position is an essential part of the success of the Lighthouse for Women and Children. The House Manager assists with operations, volunteer coordination, and residents during the day and must be available in the evening when an emergency arises. This position offers room and board as part of their salary. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the House Manager, will also adhere to and promote all Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) policies and procedures. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, who will work closely with all the staff of Lighthouse. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and includes benefits.

Requirements

  • Committed Christian, in agreement with RMA’s Statement of Faith and active in a local church.
  • Teachable spirit and ability to submit to leadership.
  • Self-motivated, exhibiting responsibility, maturity, integrity, and dependability.
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurable under RMA.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills, including record keeping, time management, and use of computers and software.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Mission Tracker. As well as several predetermined reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Manager with operations and safety of all Lighthouse facilities, staff and residents.
  • Lives on site to oversee the safety of the facility at night.
  • Coordination of volunteers, events, volunteer tracking, and recruitment.
  • Receive, drop off, organize, and distribute donations and deliveries.
  • Keep records of supplies and place orders when needed.
  • Promotes the physical, spiritual, emotional, personal, educational, and vocational welfare of the program clients in Gospel context.
  • Must be able to explain the Gospel on occasion to clients who may feel lost and unsure of their current spiritual condition.
  • Help with drug testing and routine room searches when necessary.
  • Keeps a daily log and weekly reports on the activity to the Program Manager.
  • Help with bag and belongings check of Residents returning on site.
  • Keeps Lighthouse Staff informed of any problems or potential problems, including drug use and any other discipline issues. Communicate, communicate, and communicate!
  • When needed, help maintain medication records for residents and follow medication policy.
  • Frequent inspections of sites to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Communicates truth and practices integrity in all matters.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
  • Demonstrates a Christian example and routinely interacts with clients and guests in a fair and Godly manner.
  • Promote RMA Safety Program and alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and Smith Systems policies and procedures, model safe work practices
  • Occasional driving duties, vehicles inspections, and coordinating maintenance.
  • A “Servant Leader” in actual everyday situations in alignment with RMA’s Lead Like Jesus commitment and Mission/Vision/Values
