About The Position

We are a dynamic household of six in the Mount Baker neighborhood near the lake. Both parents work full-time in demanding roles, and our four children (ages 11, 9, 5 & 4) keep life energetic, fun, and wonderfully active. We also share our home with three beloved pets: an elderly dog and two cats. Family is incredibly important to us and we truly value our quality time together in the evenings and on the weekends. Our home runs on a blend of established systems and flexibility. We have an au pair who manages morning and afternoon child-related responsibilities, as well as a housekeeping service that comes twice a month to handle deeper cleaning tasks. We've recently taken on more professional responsibilities, which means we need someone who can truly own the household side of things. We're looking for someone who can take the weight of daily household management off our plates so we can be fully present with our kids. Our household is warm and respectful, and we appreciate kindness and a calm presence. We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating order behind the scenes and takes pride in making everyday life easier for others. The right person is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family and will help ensure that the countless small tasks that keep a home running don’t fall through the cracks. Our goal is to spend less time managing logistics and more time being present for our family. We’re seeking a trusted partner who can provide that support by helping our household operate smoothly, efficiently and proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for bi-weekly cleaning service
  • Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event, holiday, and guest prep, including occasional children's birthday parties or evening hosting
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and other household maintenance items
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including picking up toys and tidying the backyard space
  • Packing and unpacking for family travel as needed
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists, orders and subscriptions
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Mail and package handling, including breaking down boxes
  • Meal planning
  • Grocery shopping
  • Light meal prep for 3-4 meals per week, including chopping vegetables and getting ingredients ready
  • Batch prep easy grab and go breakfast items and snacks
  • Wash, fold, and organize adult laundry, and family towels and linens
  • Maintain, stock and tidy laundry areas
  • Daily pet care including feeding, watering and monitoring pet supplies
  • Clean litter boxes daily
  • Schedule maintenance for family vehicles
  • Maintain family vehicles including fueling, cleaning, and organizing
  • Occasional deep cleans of fridge, oven, and baseboards
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas
  • Organizational projects for children’s toys and gear
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers
  • Backup childcare support as needed (assist with pick-up/drop-offs, kid-related errands)
