About The Position

We are a bustling, warm household of five in Castle Rock, CO, seeking a highly seasoned, patient, calm, and proactive House Manager & Family Support person. This role is crucial for creating and maintaining organizational systems, caring for our three children (two with mild to moderate autism) after school through dinner time, tackling laundry, resetting and tidying spaces, and supporting pet care. The goal is to allow parents to focus on quality family time. The ideal candidate is warm, grounded, patient, firm but kind, consistent, organized, self-managed, proactive, mature, reliable, and not easily flustered. Experience with children with autism and dogs is essential. This role requires comfort with specific medical support for a child and a dog, and adaptability to a sometimes shifting schedule. Excellent time management, communication, and professional boundary skills are key.

Requirements

  • Experience working with dogs (medium and small).

Responsibilities

  • Provide approximately two hours (4 pm to 6 pm) of childcare supervision for three children after school through dinner time.
  • Prep backpacks, lunch containers, and water bottles for school.
  • Provide bathroom support for one child, as needed.
  • Administer emergency medication, including EpiPen, if needed.
  • Provide occasional Saturday day or evening support for date nights (1-2 times per month).
  • Provide childcare during school-related activities or events as needed (e.g., swim lessons).
  • Provide childcare coverage during school breaks and closures.
  • Kid-related errands, as needed.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home.
  • Perform daily resets and prepare home for bi-monthly house cleaner visits.
  • Light tidying throughout the day — dishes, surfaces, and daily vacuuming of high-traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and décor.
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector checks, etc.
  • Manage outdoor spaces and tidy up after children.
  • Prepare fresh, healthy dinners for children daily.
  • Prepare school lunches and two daily snacks for all three children.
  • Grocery shopping, on occasion.
  • Follow dietary requirements: the household is gluten-free (separate microwave and toaster for any gluten-containing items); one child has a minor peanut and tree nut allergy - peanuts/tree nuts are permitted in the home.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the household.
  • Rotate linens as needed.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
  • Maintain running household supply lists.
  • Handle mail, packages, and box breakdown.
  • Occasional deep cleaning tasks (fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Refresh high-use areas such as the garage, mudroom, and entryway.
  • Ongoing organizational projects including toy storage, children's clothing, linen closets, and seasonal décor.
  • Feed and walk three dogs daily.
  • Supervise dogs in the yard (invisible fence).
  • Administer insulin injection to one dog after meals.
  • Track pet supplies.
  • Provide pet sitting when the family travels out of town.
