About The Position

This is a part-time role, 16-20 hours per week, focused on supporting a busy household with three school-age children. The core hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with flexibility for Friday afternoon support. The family seeks a long-term, trusting partnership with someone who can become a steady presence, bringing calm, organization, and efficiency to weekday afternoons. The role involves household management, family support including child assistance, meal planning and preparation, laundry, errands, vehicle management, vendor oversight, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and comfortable with a dynamic schedule, possessing a calm and confident demeanor with children.

Requirements

  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fragrance-free.
  • Familiarity with or ability to follow cross-contamination protocols for celiac disease.
  • Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs throughout the day.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to obtain upon hire accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organizational systems.
  • Perform daily resets: light tidying, dishes, surfaces, sweeping and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Prepare the home ahead of bi-monthly cleaners.
  • Engage in ongoing decluttering and seasonal swaps.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, batteries, and air filters.
  • Provide school pickups and transportation to after-school activities.
  • Offer light supervision and backup childcare.
  • Prepare backpacks, snacks, and clothing for the following school day.
  • Assist with homework help and after-school transition support.
  • Provide occasional evening babysitting (approx. two nights per month) and potential for overnight babysitting.
  • Prepare school lunches for two children, four days per week.
  • Prepare dinner five nights per week, focusing on fresh daily meals and batch-cooked items.
  • Wash, rinse, and chop fresh fruits and vegetables for snacks.
  • Handle grocery shopping (primarily through Instacart).
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Follow established cross-contamination protocols for celiac disease.
  • Manage family laundry and linen care.
  • Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Perform occasional car washes and vacuuming for family vehicles.
  • Schedule and attend vehicle maintenance appointments and inspections.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance renewal.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for contractors and repair vendors.
  • Research quotes and coordinate logistics for unexpected home maintenance.
  • Assist with calendar management, coordinating household and family appointments.
  • Support travel planning and logistics.
  • Track receipts and budgets for job-related expenses.
  • Handle mail, household bills, and filing of children's school papers.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of oven and fridge.
  • Maintain air purifiers and humidifiers.
  • Undertake organizational projects on rotation (toys, gear, closets).
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas as needed.
