About The Position

This is a part-time role, 16-20 hours per week, focused on supporting a busy household with three school-age children. The core hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with flexibility for Friday afternoons. The family seeks a long-term, trusting partner who can bring calm, organization, and efficiency to their weekday evenings. Key responsibilities include household management, family support (including school pickups and homework help), meal planning and preparation, laundry, errands, vehicle management, vendor oversight, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, warm, steady with children, and comfortable with a flexible schedule. The role emphasizes creating systems to make the household run smoothly and making weekday evenings feel organized and easy.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organizational systems.
  • Perform daily resets: light tidying, dishes, surfaces, sweeping and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Prepare the home ahead of bi-monthly cleaners.
  • Conduct ongoing decluttering.
  • Manage seasonal clothing and décor swaps, and occasional donation drop-offs.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks: replacing light bulbs, batteries, swapping air filters, maintaining air purifiers, and keeping household items charged.
  • Provide school pickups and transportation to after-school activities.
  • Offer light supervision and backup childcare.
  • Prep backpacks, snacks, and clothing for the following school day.
  • Assist with homework help and after-school transition support.
  • Provide occasional evening babysitting (approx. two nights per month) with potential for overnight babysitting.
  • Prepare school lunches for two children, four days per week.
  • Prepare dinner five nights per week, focusing on fresh daily meals and batch-cooked items.
  • Wash, rinse, and chop fresh fruits and vegetables for healthy snacks.
  • Manage grocery shopping (primarily through Instacart).
  • Handle kitchen clean-up and maintenance.
  • Follow established cross-contamination protocols for celiac disease.
  • Wash, fold, organize, and put away full family laundry.
  • Manage linen rotation as needed.
  • Keep the laundry area tidy and well-stocked.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Perform occasional car wash runs and vacuuming for family vehicles.
  • Schedule and attend vehicle maintenance appointments and inspections.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance renewal.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for contractors and repair vendors.
  • Research quotes and coordinate logistics for unexpected home maintenance needs.
  • Manage calendar, including coordinating household and family appointments.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics.
  • Track receipts and budget for job-related expenses.
  • Handle filing and administrative organization: mail, household bills, and children's school papers/keepsakes.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of oven and fridge.
  • Maintain air purifiers and humidifiers.
  • Undertake organizational projects (toys, gear, closets) on rotation.
  • Refresh garage/mudroom/entry as needed.
