About The Position

You’ll be a key partner in managing our household, supporting the kids after school, and ensuring everything stays in order. We need a detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple responsibilities independently, anticipate what needs to be done, and take initiative without constant supervision. A love for helping others is essential, as you will be directly contributing to reducing the mental load on the family. Whether it’s meal prepping, maintaining organization systems, or stepping in to help with the kids, we want someone who finds satisfaction in keeping things running seamlessly and enjoys being an integral part of the family’s day-to-day life. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable with the fluctuating demands of a busy family and bring a positive, calm energy into our home. Communication is key for us, so we’re looking for someone who is approachable, clear, and organized in their interactions. Flexibility, energy, and a can-do attitude are vital traits to thrive in this role.

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Has reliable transportation (will be reimbursed for mileage and/or gas expenses for family-related errands and duties)
  • Fluent English speaker

  • Previous experience in household management, meal prep, and childcare is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization of closets, pantry, storage, and toys
  • Tidy rooms daily, keeping the home prepped for bi-weekly cleaning service
  • Manage and update household calendars, coordinate with multiple apps (GameChanger, TeamSnap, school newsletters), and upload information into the Skylight family calendar
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare for guest stays (e.g., setting up bathrooms, stocking essentials)
  • Help with holiday decoration and post-event cleanup
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and pickups
  • Oversee household vendors and service providers (handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping/pick-up/wrap
  • Handle deliveries – bring mail in, develop a system for how mail gets sorted, open packages, put in a location where the family can see them, and get cardboard out to the garage
  • Prepare simple meals 3-4 times a week (e.g., spaghetti, tacos, slow-cooker meals)
  • Batch cooking for easy reheating (family plans meals; house manager executes)
  • Prep dry snacks for the kids
  • Clean and manage kitchen tidiness after meal prep
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Coordinate school uniforms, practice gear, and seasonal clothing swaps
  • Iron/steam as needed (e.g., uniforms, special items)
  • Maintain laundry areas and restock supplies
  • Feed and walk the dogs (if time allows)
  • Pet sitting on weekends (bonus for additional compensation)
  • Track pet supply levels and notify the family when food is running low
  • Take vehicles for a weekly clean
  • Support with pickups from school or taking kids to practices or activities – on a week-to-week basis of if this is needed
  • Assist with light childcare (e.g., summer check-ins on the kids, occasional evening babysitting)
  • Provide occasional support for family events (slumber parties, birthdays)
  • Assist with scheduling doctor and dentist appointments for the family
  • Help with party prep (decorations, setup, breakdown)
  • Monitor the family’s calendar to ensure everything is on track
