House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)
About The Position
This is a part-time (10-15 hours/week) House Manager & Family Assistant role in Los Gatos, CA, supporting an active family of four with two young children. The family has demanding hybrid work schedules and values family time, seeking assistance to maintain household organization and balance. The role involves supporting the family with various household tasks, child assistance, meal preparation, laundry, errands, and vendor oversight to ensure the home runs smoothly and feels warm and inviting. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, tech-savvy self-starter who can work independently and integrate seamlessly into the family dynamic.
Requirements
- Maintain a smoke-free environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Vaccinations (general) required
- Comfortable with the Apple ecosystem
- Proactive, highly organized self-starter
- Tech savvy, particularly within the Apple ecosystem
- Able to manage household tasks independently

Responsibilities
- Occasional child care when needed, including drop-offs and pick-ups and supervision at home or during after school activities
- Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks
- Child-related errands
- Create or maintain organization systems for cabinets, pantry, and general home maintenance
- Daily resets to prep home for cleaners (weekly on Tuesdays)
- Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
- Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
- Event/holiday/guest prep (on occasion)
- Packing/unpacking for travel
- Indoor plant care
- Occasional seasonal projects (e.g., cushion cleaning, outdoor maintenance)
- Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
- Refresh garage/mudroom/entryway
- Clean humidifiers
- Organizational projects (toys, gear)
- Receive and organize groceries, restock pantry and fridge
- Manage running household supply lists
- Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target)
- Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
- Mail and package handling
- Breakdown boxes
- Prep healthy snacks for the kids and school lunches
- Light meal prep (chopping, prepping and cooking)
- Grocery shopping as needed
- Kitchen cleanup and organization
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry
- Linen rotation
- Ironing/steaming and special garment care
- Maintain tidy, well-stocked laundry areas
- Schedule maintenance
- Fueling/cleaning/organizing vehicles
- Track registration/insurance
- Research/coordinate repairs and quotes (on occasion)
- Seasonal property maintenance - power wash outdoor furniture for the season
- Manage outdoor spaces
