About The Position

We are seeking a part-time House Manager & Family Assistant for a busy, warm household with two working parents and two college-aged sons. The ideal candidate will create a calm, clean, and organized retreat. This role requires a genuine love of dogs and experience working around them, as the family shares their home with three medium-sized dogs. We value someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and makes thoughtful decisions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily dog walks, feeding, and routine management.
  • Bathe dogs every two weeks and coordinate grooming appointments.
  • Maintain pet supply inventory.
  • Assist with dog care during family travel.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets (dishes, surfaces, tidying) and prepare for weekly cleaners.
  • Manage ongoing organizational projects.
  • Handle light home maintenance tasks (batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, air filters).
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Support event, holiday, and guest preparation.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances, baseboards, and specialty areas.
  • Research, vet, and coordinate vendors for home repairs and maintenance.
  • Act as an on-site contact for vendor appointments.
  • Oversee and communicate with existing service providers (cleaners, pool, lawn).
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance (power washing, window cleaning).
  • Refresh and maintain outdoor spaces.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies; maintain running supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and other household errands.
  • Retrieve mail, unbox deliveries, and break down cardboard.
  • Perform weekly grocery shopping.
  • Assemble and portion meals from a delivery service.
  • Prep healthy snacks and meals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize household laundry and linens.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked.
  • Schedule routine maintenance for family vehicles.
  • Coordinate interior cleaning and detailing for family vehicles.
  • Scan and file paperwork.
  • Maintain awareness of the family calendar for scheduling.
  • Track receipts and household expenses; manage purchases using family account access.
