About The Position

We are a busy, warm, and close-knit household with two young children seeking a part-time House Manager / Family Assistant. Both parents have demanding careers, and we are looking for someone to help manage the behind-the-scenes tasks so we can be more present with our children in the evenings. Our home is energetic and kid-filled, and we value honesty, inclusivity, and respect. The ideal candidate is friendly, proactive, self-assured, and enjoys a lively environment. Trust and reliability are paramount, especially when working in our home and around young children.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Up to date on COVID-19 and influenza vaccines.
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Occasional domestic travel with the family (approximately twice per year with significant advance notice) is a plus, though not required.
  • Manage event logistics as an added value, though not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage meal subscriptions, including selecting meals, receiving deliveries, and preparing dinners.
  • Prepare simple meals for children as needed.
  • Manage grocery pickup and keep household staples stocked.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness after meal prep.
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming).
  • Prepare the home for biweekly cleaning crew visits.
  • Oversee organizational projects for toys, gear, and storage areas.
  • Perform occasional refresh projects and targeted deep cleaning (refrigerator, oven, baseboards).
  • Replace household items like batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and filters.
  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry regularly.
  • Perform light ironing/steaming.
  • Rotate bedding and towels.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized laundry area.
  • Manage household supply lists and place orders.
  • Manage household subscriptions, including receiving and putting away deliveries.
  • Handle package intake and cardboard disposal.
  • Coordinate recycling drop-offs, returns, gift shopping, and donation runs.
  • Oversee and coordinate scheduled visits from household vendors (cleaners, landscapers, contractors).
  • Research repair needs, obtain quotes, and coordinate services.
  • Maintain and tidy the patio area, including organizing children's outdoor toys.
  • Fuel, clean, and organize the family vehicle.
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance appointments.
  • Provide occasional babysitting support outside of the regular schedule.
  • Offer occasional childcare support on days when daycare closes early.
  • Potentially assist with school pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Help prepare children for school and activities (backpacks, clothing, snacks).
  • Occasional domestic travel with the family is a plus.
  • Read and work from the family's shared household Google calendar.
  • Support travel planning and logistics, including packing coordination.
  • Coordinate appointments (medical, dental, etc.).
  • Manage event logistics as an added value.
