Part-Time House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Support)
About The Position
We are a busy, warm, and active family of five with three children (ages 4, 6, and 9) and two gentle, older dogs. Our home is full of energy, creativity, and connection. We are looking for someone who can step in and help bring more ease to the household through thoughtful meal planning and preparation, keeping things organized and stocked, and helping the home run smoothly behind the scenes. We already have a regular house cleaner and part-time afternoon babysitter, but we’re looking for someone who can think a few steps ahead, notice what needs attention, and become a trusted partner within our family’s natural rhythms. The right person will bring warmth, initiative, and a genuine love for family life. This is a household that will take great care of the right person, and we’re excited to welcome someone who takes pride in their work and is looking for a long-term role where they can truly become part of our home.
Requirements
- Maintain a smoke-free environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation required
- Comfortable working alongside children and dogs.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Batch cooking support: casseroles, crock pot meals, marinating proteins
- Washing, chopping, and prepping produce for the week
- Preparing healthy snacks that are ready and accessible for the family
- Grocery shopping for meal ingredients
- Prepping school lunches as needed
- Kitchen tidying and reset after meal prep sessions
- Create and/or Maintain household organization systems
- Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
- Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
- Seasonal swaps — clothing, décor, and bedding storage and rotation
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
- Occasional event or party prep
- Packing and travel prep support as needed
- Watering indoor plants and occasional outdoor plant care
- Wash, fold, and assist with putting away household laundry
- Weekly linen rotation, including sheet changes and fresh towels
- Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area
- Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
- Manage running household supply lists
- Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target)
- Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
- Mail and package handling
- Breakdown boxes
- Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
- Refresh garage/mudroom/entry
- Clean humidifiers/air purifiers on occasion
- Organizational projects (toys, gear)
- Assistance with artwork and photo updates: selecting, ordering, framing, and hanging
- Dog walks on days present
- Vet/grooming scheduling on occasion
- Maintaining pet supplies
- Schedule maintenance
- Fueling/cleaning/organizing vehicles
- Track registration/insurance
- Occasional light supervision or backup childcare as needed
- Occasional drop-offs or kid-related errands
- Occasional date night coverage
- Occasional house and pet sitting during family travel
- Calendar awareness and coordination support
- Event and appointment coordination
- Paper shredding and small home administrative tasks
