About The Position

We are a close-knit family of seven seeking a part-time House Manager & Family Assistant to help keep our energetic and lively home organized and running smoothly. With five teenagers involved in various educational and extracurricular activities, and both parents working from home, our house is a constant hub of activity. We are looking for someone proactive, organized, and adaptable to manage household organization, tidiness, laundry, meal prep, errands, and occasional deep cleaning and property oversight. This role focuses on household support and organization, not childcare, as our children are older and largely independent. We value a collaborative working relationship built on trust, initiative, and mutual respect, aiming to create simple, sustainable systems that make daily life easier and allow us to focus on what matters most.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets and preparation for cleaners.
  • Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and gear.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Unpack after family travel.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry, including special garment care and linen rotation.
  • Maintain well-stocked and tidy laundry areas.
  • Prepare healthy, high-protein ready-to-grab snacks.
  • Perform grocery shopping for meal ingredients, adhering to dietary preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Collaborate on running grocery and household supply lists.
  • Run errands related to the kids, handle returns, and manage mail/package logistics.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances and areas like the fridge, oven, baseboards, garage, mudroom, and entry areas.
  • Organize special projects such as closet resets, shed inventory, and art supply organization.
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including power washing rugs and wiping down patio furniture.
  • Handle seasonal property maintenance tasks like watering backyard plants.
  • Maintain awareness of the family calendar and support with appointment and event coordination.
  • Manage receipt tracking and budget management for household expenses.
