About The Position

A San Luis Obispo family with a toddler and newborn is seeking a house manager to oversee household operations. This role focuses on keeping the house running smoothly in the background, allowing the parents to concentrate on their business and children. The responsibilities include laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, daily resets, errands, and maintaining household systems. This is a hands-on, practical role for someone who can manage complexity, close loops, and operate autonomously. The family values momentum over perfection and offers a flexible schedule during business hours.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to San Francisco (Note: This seems to be a contradiction with the San Luis Obispo location mentioned earlier in the description. Assuming San Luis Obispo is the correct location).
  • Clean background check and references.
  • Commitment to not coming to work sick, due to the presence of a newborn and toddler.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, close loops, and operate autonomously.
  • Experience managing multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • Comfort with dietary restrictions and high-quality food standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced parents re-entering the workforce.
  • Backgrounds in hospitality, executive assistant, caregiving, or household management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily laundry cycles for the entire household, ensuring it is washed, dried, folded, and put away without piling up.
  • Plan and execute weekly meal preparation, including batch cooking dinners and occasional lunch/snack prep, adhering to 100% gluten-free protocols and high-quality food standards (organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised).
  • Take full ownership of grocery shopping and restocking, tracking inventory, maintaining core and specialty items, and unpacking/restocking groceries.
  • Perform daily resets of the kitchen, living areas, playroom, and backyard, including clearing counters, loading dishwashers, tidying spaces, and returning items to designated locations.
  • Handle mail sorting, package management, vendor payments, and run occasional errands.
  • Maintain the tidiness of the family cars and drive them for detailing twice weekly.
  • Maintain existing organizational systems within the home.

Benefits

  • $30-35/hour
  • Flexible schedule during business hours
  • Part-time: 10–20 hours/week (Note: This contradicts the 20-25 hrs/week mentioned earlier. Using the 20-25 hrs/week as it's more specific to the role.)
