About The Position

The Hotel Night Porter position at Lake Junaluska Assembly Inc is a part-time role focused on providing excellent hospitality and maintaining the appearance and functionality of the facilities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and overtime when required and with supervisor approval.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Housekeeping staff with duties such as stripping beds and trash removal.
  • Ensure all items in guest rooms are in working order.
  • Assist Maintenance staff with light maintenance duties including painting, drywall/wallpaper repairs, preventative maintenance, door lock repairs, window screen repairs, and replacing light bulbs.
  • Assist Guest Services staff with delivering special guest requests like rollaways, linens, blankets, pillows, and mini refrigerators.
  • Assist Guest Services Front Desk staff with answering phones, processing walk-in reservations, assisting with group check-ins, and any other guest-related needs.
  • Assist guests with luggage.
  • Regularly check all floors, elevators, landings, porches, and other common areas for trash or debris.
  • Check vending areas for trash, debris, or spillage and clean appropriately.
  • Maintain the appearance of all public areas by vacuuming, cleaning floors and carpets, dusting and polishing furniture, keeping windows and doors clean, and disinfecting/deodorizing bathroom fixtures.
  • Restock and replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Work at different heights to clean walls and windows.
  • Respond immediately to any major spills or cleaning crises.
  • Place safety hazard signs, such as 'wet floor' signs.
  • Turn in all lost and found items to the front desk staff.
  • Move about campus to provide service in assigned areas using various transportation vehicles (golf cart, work van, oversized work van).
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.
