About The Position

Maintains and repairs the physical structures of hotel buildings and maintains the grounds. The role also helps other departments, responds promptly to guest maintenance concerns, and supports property safety, preventative maintenance, and event-room setup. Employees must follow KHC policies and property-specific guidelines, maintain a professional image, and report to work as scheduled.

Requirements

Meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly standing, walking, and using hands to handle, grasp, or type.
Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or twist; talk or hear; and push, pull, or lift over 10 pounds.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Have the vision abilities required for the job: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries.
Maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

Clean internal hotel areas, including storage and boiler rooms, parking lots, public areas, banquet rooms, and guest rooms; perform tasks such as buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, and handling trash.
Maintain and repair building plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
Replace worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment, including vehicles, vacuum cleaners, and riding mowers.
Monitor hotel swimming pools and adjust conditions to ensure proper sanitation and chemical usage.
Maintain grounds by cutting grass, trimming weeds, constructing decorative flower-garden borders, digging flower beds, and planting flowers.
Repair parking lots and sidewalks using asphalt, cold-patching materials, and concrete.
Operate snow-removal equipment to keep parking lots and sidewalks clear of obstacles.
Repair, paint, or replace interior walls and building components made of trim, wood, brick, stone, and concrete.
Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
Greet guests warmly and address maintenance concerns promptly and efficiently to support guest satisfaction.
Work with other departments to respond promptly to guest requests for services and repairs.
Help secure property assets, including vehicles, tools, furniture, supplies, key cards, and guests.
Use materials, chemicals, and tools safely to avoid waste, damage, or accidents.
Participate in property safety and preventative-maintenance programs to maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment.
Set up, tear down, and clean banquet and meeting rooms as assigned.
Run errands and drive as needed to meet business needs.
Follow KHC handbook policies and property-specific guidelines and standards, including dress, safety, and performance standards; maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.
