About The Position

Maintains and repairs the physical structures of hotel buildings and maintains hotel grounds. The role also helps meet guest needs, supports other departments, contributes to property security, and participates in safety and preventative maintenance programs. Employees are responsible for following KHC policies and property-specific standards, maintaining a professional image, and reporting to work as scheduled. A valid driver's license is required; the employee may occasionally drive the hotel shuttle and run errands as needed.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, grasp, or type regularly; reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist, talk or hear frequently; and sit and smell occasionally.
Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Follow proper safety precautions at all times.
Maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

Clean hotel internal areas, including storage and boiler rooms, parking lots, public areas, banquet rooms, and guest rooms; tasks include buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, and handling trash.
Maintain and repair building plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses, faucets, and valves.
Replace worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment, including vehicles, vacuum cleaners, and riding mowers.
Monitor swimming pools and adjust sanitation and chemical usage as needed.
Maintain grounds by cutting grass, trimming weeds, building decorative flower garden borders, digging flower beds, and planting flowers.
Repair parking lots and sidewalks using asphalt, cold-patching materials, and concrete.
Operate snow-removal equipment to keep parking lots and sidewalks clear.
Repair, paint, or replace interior walls and building elements made of materials such as trim, wood, brick, stone, and concrete.
Help other departments move furniture and unload and store supplies.
Greet guests warmly and address maintenance concerns quickly and efficiently to support guest satisfaction.
Coordinate with other departments to respond promptly to guest requests for services and repairs.
Help secure the property, including vehicles, tools, furniture, supplies, key cards, and guests.
Use materials, chemicals, and tools safely to prevent waste, damage, and accidents.
Participate in property safety and preventative maintenance programs to help maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment.
Assist with setting up, tearing down, and cleaning banquet and meeting rooms as assigned.
Run errands and drive as needed to meet business needs.
Follow KHC handbook policies and property-specific guidelines and standards, including dress code, safety, and performance standards.
