About The Position

The Hotel Maintenance Person ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel’s physical infrastructure. The role performs routine maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and completes timely repairs to maintain a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and staff. The position works with hotel departments to prioritize work orders, identify potential maintenance issues, and support operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

The role requires flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address ongoing maintenance needs and emergency calls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field; hospitality experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Safe and effective operation of hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented problem-solving, clear communication with staff and guests, and physical stamina for manual maintenance tasks.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to maintenance needs and emergency calls.

Nice To Haves

• Technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.
• Prior hotel experience using digital work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and commercial appliances; respond promptly to work orders and guest requests.
• Repair and maintain structural elements, including doors, windows, walls, drywall, locks, and flooring, to uphold safety and appearance standards.
• Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and spare parts, and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Assist in overseeing external contractors and vendors during specialized repairs or large-scale property projects.
• Log completed work orders accurately, report significant maintenance trends or hazards to leadership, and comply with OSHA and property safety regulations.
