About The Position

Alter Metal Recycling is seeking a Fabricator/Welder for its Eau Claire location, which processes automobiles and metals. The position involves maintaining and repairing stationary and mobile equipment through welding, fabrication, and related mechanical work. It is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, has attention to detail and mechanical aptitude, and is interested in agricultural, industrial, or construction equipment. Flexible full-time or part-time schedules are available. The employee must work safely, wear required PPE, and follow company safety standards.

Requirements

Good welding and fabricating abilities.
Mechanical aptitude and an analytical mind, with attention to detail.
Enjoy working with hands and have an interest in agricultural, industrial, or construction equipment.
Ability to lift 30–50 pounds.
Organizational skills.
Willingness and ability to work in all environmental elements.

Nice To Haves

Opportunity to learn or work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, PLCs, bearings, and conveyors.
Familiarity with mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, roll-off trucks, and excavators.

Responsibilities

Maintain equipment through proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs.
Perform welding and fabrication on stationary and mobile equipment.
Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies.
Perform repairs, installations, troubleshooting, setup and adjustments, welding, torching, and lubrication.
Work in all environmental elements.
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Wear necessary PPE in the yard and follow company safety standards.
