Hotel Exterior Grounds Custodian
About The Position
The Hotel Exterior Grounds Custodian is responsible for keeping the property’s exterior clean and completing interior project work. Duties include power washing, cleaning and maintaining furniture, high dusting and detailed cleaning of high fixtures, cleaning property air vents, and collecting and emptying trash receptacles. The role also assists with valet parking cars on heavy check-in and check-out days. The position is based at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center in Westlake, Texas. This is a full-time role requiring full availability, with compensation of $19 per hour. The property is a private hotel and conference center managed by Benchmark Hospitality.
Requirements
- Ability to use gas-powered cleaning equipment.
- Valid State of Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a similar job in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Pressure wash patios and other areas.
- Clean, scrub, dust, straighten, and move exterior furniture as needed for exterior floor cleaning.
- Remove cobwebs, bird droppings, bird nests, mud daubers, and similar debris from the building exterior, furniture, fixtures, and window frames.
- Clean exterior and interior lights and fixtures, including high-level fixtures using extension poles, ladders, and/or lifts.
- Empty exterior trash and cigarette receptacles.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the parking lot, jogging trails, and other outdoor areas.
- Clean and maintain exterior restrooms located outside the main building.
- Maintain recycling areas, including the loading dock, social venue, and other recycling stations.
- Perform simple preventive maintenance on recycling and grounds equipment.
- Assist with valet parking cars on heavy check-in and check-out days.
- Complete interior project work, including high dusting, high-fixture detail cleaning, and property air vent cleaning.
