About The Position

The Hotel Custodian/Houseperson helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for hotel guests and staff. The role focuses on cleaning public areas, supporting the housekeeping team, and completing light maintenance tasks to help the hotel operate smoothly. The position also involves delivering guest amenities, reporting hazards and repair needs, and completing a checklist and walkthrough with a manager at the end of each shift.

Requirements

• Reliable and hardworking, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Team-oriented and enjoys helping others, with pride in their work.
• Physically able to stand, walk, lift, and bend throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Previous housekeeping or custodial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean public spaces, including lobbies, elevators, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and the pool deck.
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness in guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
• Deliver and collect linens and help stock supply rooms.
• Assist housekeepers with tasks such as making beds and flipping mattresses.
• Perform light maintenance tasks, such as plunging toilets and replacing showerheads or AC units.
• Deliver guest amenities such as cribs and rollaways.
• Identify and report safety hazards or repair needs.
• Complete a task checklist and walkthrough with a manager at the end of each shift.
• Assist with special projects and provide help where needed.
